For the past three years, Snowshoe Mountain
has been practicing the tactics
of Revenue Management. The Revenue Management
Department is committed to
providing you with communication and education
as to how we as a team can
maximize the revenue generating capability of
your vacation home here at
Snowshoe.
You might ask, what is revenue management? Revenue
Management is, in
layman's terms, making sure we are selling the
right product to the right
person, at the right time, for the right price.
The purpose of Revenue
Management is to ensure we are maximizing the
revenue generated by each unit
on our program. This means we micro-analyze
every aspect of our guests
booking patterns, length of stay, our pricing
structure, the mix between
group and transient business, and so on. This
is all in an effort to make
sure we are not under-pricing or under-restricting
units, which causes the
unit to generate less revenue than it is capable
of. We must also be
cautious not to over-price or over-restrict
units, causing them not to book,
and thus produce no revenue at all. Simply put,
that is revenue management.
